Rescue Houses

Here at Salvaged Child, we believe the best policy for fighting abuse and exploitation is to stop children from becoming sex slaves in the first place.

That’s what we do here at Salvaged Child. Through the ongoing, successful work of our established, and time-tested ministry partners, we are making a difference. The rescue houses we sponsor have have already salvaged hundreds of children from the vicious cycle. Our vision here at Salvaged Child is to increase the number of rescue homes to 100. When you multiply the average number of children per rescue house (16), then multiply that number by 100 houses, that’s 1600 children that can be saved from exploitation annually.

While that doesn’t solve the problem, it does hit them hard, and in ten years time, Rescue Homes can rescue thousands of children from being forced into a life with no reprieve.

I have visited the homes myself, and can happily report that they are very well run, by genuine Christians. The field parents are doing a fantastic job, and are commended for their efforts. I thank God that they understand the value of every life, and love them with a pure and holy love – the love of God.

What happens to children when they grow to become adults? Is there hope for a brighter future when they leave the rescue homes? Happily, the story has a fantastic ending for these children – and for the kingdom of God. The children live safely in the homes until they are 18 years old. Then they are allowed to enroll in a Christian leadership training center. Many of these young adults are trained for ministry for two years, then are sent out to pastor a brand new church plant, somewhere in China, Laos, Burma, Thailand or Vietnam.

At the same time we are growing rescue houses, in fact, we are also successfully increasing church plants throughout the region. A side note: Destiny Ministry plants Bible colleges and leader-training centers worldwide, to help make it possible for students to be trained and able to enter adult life with the tools to make the most of themselves, and more importantly, to impact their generation for Christ.

Here at Salvaged Child, we strongly believe in the principle “to whom much is given, much is required.” It is a great thing to see God rescue children from certain destruction. But the rewards become greater when salvaged children grow up to become ministers, and help expand the work of salvaging souls, through the sacrificial work of their own labors.
